Living in an older Sanur villa means something is always leaking, clogging, or corroding from the sea air. I handle the small-to-medium jobs that keep your home running between major renovations: dripping taps, slow-draining sinks, pool pump issues, loose fittings, and general wear-and-tear fixes. No task is too awkward to describe – just send a photo and we'll sort it out.
What We Fix
In a typical Sanur villa you'll find a mix of PDAM pipework, old well connections, rooftop storage tanks, and sometimes a septic system that hasn't been touched since the nineties. Salt-laden air accelerates corrosion on every exposed fitting, so things fail faster here than in a continental climate.
I come out for tasks like:
That covers roughly 80% of what expat owners call me for. If your issue is bigger – a full re-pipe, structural leak, or major electrical rewiring – I'll tell you honestly and point you toward the right specialist.
- Replacing worn washers, O-rings, and tap cartridges
- Unclogging kitchen and bathroom drains, clearing hair traps
- Repairing or swapping pool pumps, skimmer baskets, and filter sand
- Fixing leaking shower heads, toilet flush valves, and bidet connections
- Tightening or replacing corroded pipe joints (copper, PVC, PPR)
- Patching small plaster cracks around wet areas before they spread
- Installing or adjusting water-pressure regulators on PDAM lines
- Servicing rooftop tank overflow pipes and float valves during rainy season
Pricing
There's no fixed rate card because every villa is different. A dripping tap in a ground-floor bathroom takes twenty minutes; chasing a hidden leak behind a tiled wall can take an afternoon. The price depends on the job, the access difficulty, and whether parts need to be sourced from the hardware shops along Jalan Sanur Kauh.
My process is simple: send me a photo or short video on WhatsApp, describe what you're seeing, and I'll give you a ballpark range before I even pick up my toolbox. If the scope changes once I'm on site, we agree on the final figure together before any work starts. No surprises.
Send me a photo of the issue on WhatsApp now – even a blurry one helps – and I'll tell you whether I can fix it today.
Materials & Parts
For most small repairs I carry common fittings, sealant tape, replacement cartridges, and a selection of hose connectors in my van. For anything specific – a particular pump model, a branded filter cartridge, a matching tile piece – I'll let you know upfront so you can either source it yourself or I can pick it up locally.
One Sanur-specific note: because PDAM water here has a higher mineral content than many expats are used to, limescale builds up quickly inside showerheads and under-sink filters. I recommend flushing those every few months, especially after the dry season when tank water sits longer.
How to Book
The whole process takes about two minutes:
- Open your phone's camera and take a clear photo (or 10-second video) of the problem area.
- Send it to me on WhatsApp with a one-line description – 'kitchen tap drips,' 'pool water is cloudy,' etc.
- I reply with a rough estimate and a time window that suits you. Most jobs get done same-day or next morning within Sanur.
- I arrive, confirm the scope with you, do the work, and walk you through what was fixed and what to watch for next.
What We Don't Do
A few things fall outside my scope, and I'd rather flag them now than waste your time:
If it's borderline, ask. I'd rather say 'no' honestly than half-do a job that could get unsafe.
- Gas appliance installation or repair. If you smell gas, leave the villa, close the main valve from outside, and call a licensed gas technician immediately.
- Heavy electrical work: rewiring, panel upgrades, or any wiring near pools and spas. That needs a certified electrician.
- Structural repairs, roof tile replacement, or large-scale tiling.
- Mixing chlorine with any other chemical in your pool. Never combine bleach-based products with acid or ammonia – the fumes are dangerous. Call a professional if you've already mixed them.
Questions
Which areas do you cover?
I work in 10 areas of Bali: Canggu, Ubud, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Sanur, Jimbaran, Kuta & Legian, Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Kerobokan & Umalas.
Can you come during the rainy season when everything floods?
I do my best, but heavy downpours can make access tricky around low-lying streets. Send me a photo as soon as you spot a problem; early fixes prevent the bigger leaks that usually follow a week of rain.
What if the repair turns out more complicated than expected?
We pause, I explain what I found, and we agree on next steps before anything else happens. You're never committed to an open-ended bill.
I'll reply with what's needed, a price and when I can come.
